Go (Frugal) Lions! Tuesday, Sep 21 2010

I am so excited! I connected earlier with Penn State University’s Great Valley Campus (it’s in King of Prussia, PA) to see if they’d like to do a Brilliant Frugal Living workshop. They don’t (yokay), BUT they DO want to go with a one hour BFL presentation followed by a book sale & signing! Woo Hoo! LOVE that campus – it’s GORGEOUS.

As soon as I know the date & time, I’ll shoot it to the blogosphere!

Saving Mega money on Monets! Tuesday, Sep 21 2010

I ran some errands a bit ago and hit the Exton Goodwill (shocker!), and came across a gold-framed Monet print that I NEVER saw before, “The Bridge At Argenteuil”! It was only $7, so, being a faux-Monet junkie, I of course grabbed it. It is SO cool to look at! The guy really knew how to throw paint on paper. Go Claude!

Now I just have to figure out where I’m going to put it in the house!

Another fabulous time in Allentown! Tuesday, Sep 21 2010

Thanks again to Eve & Jaciel (and wonder-camerawoman Darcelle) at Channel 69 in Allentown for another fantastic interview. The drive there and back was amazing, 90 minutes of beautiful mountain views with the leaves just starting to change. Really cool. And can I mention, I love the GPS in the car! Allentown has so many curvy roads, I could go there 100 times & still get directionally whacked. Not any more baby! WOO HOO!

Woo Hoo! The utility bill is in! Tuesday, Sep 21 2010

Just got the mail, and the utility bill is in. Last Aug, the bill was $256. Tack the new PP&L 30% increase on, and this August bill should be at least $332. Instead, with a couple of easy, boring-yet-effective tricks, this August’s bill is $220. HOORAY! And you KNOW I’m getting old when I get excited about the utility bill. Freaking embarrassing.

“Girlfriend We Gotta Talk” radio show! Tuesday, Sep 21 2010

I was thrilled to get an invite to the fabulous “Girlfriend We Gotta Talk” radio show! It taped on 9/15 (the half hour FLEW by), and aired on Sunday, 9/19!
Many thanks to Susie Galvez & Mary Foley for this terrific opportunity!

Oh yeah, it’s a beautiful day in the neighborhood… Tuesday, Sep 21 2010

Had a crazy day that definitely took a step in the right direction around mid-afternoon. I got a writing deadline done, connected with a fab Craigslist Mom to get some GREAT Thomas & Friends stuff for Robbie’s bedroom, & found another multicolore Louis Vuitton at the Goodwill for $4 (same as pic below, but mine has no side zipper). Why ask why, but the thrift stores have never been so loaded with fabulous shoes & handbags. Get in there, ladies! Show no fear!

With a name like “The Fiscal Times”… you KNOW I already adore it… Tuesday, Sep 21 2010

And when they let me contribute to it, I’m on cloud nine!
Many thanks to Heather Larson & The Fiscal Times for letting me add to their great writeup on Back To School Savings! You guys are terrific!
